Tommaso Baldanzi is set to be one of the hot topics of the summer transfer window, and Milan and Napoli are preparing to fight for his signature, reports suggest.

The 20-year-old Italian trequartista has shined in his first full season with the Empoli first team, scoring four goals and showing his potential across his 22 Serie A appearances.

Milan have had their sights set on Baldanzi for a while now but first need to resolve the futures of two players: Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere. The former could return to Real Madrid, whilst the latter has failed to impress following his €35m move from Club Brugge last year.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Milan and Napoli are keeping a close eye on Baldanzi and are planning a move in the summer. The Partenopei could rely on their excellent relationship with Empoli to help in the fight for the 20-year-old’s signature.

The Azzurri value Baldanzi at around €15-20m and Lazio are also in the mix, setting up an exciting summer transfer window for the talented Italian trequartista.
