There are reports Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri could be tempted away from the Stadio Olimpico to San Siro next season, with both Milan and Inter considering him for the future.

The tactician shot to fame at Empoli and then got Napoli playing spectacular football, albeit without managing to win silverware.

He did get trophies at Chelsea with the Europa League and then the Serie A title for Juventus.

Sarri surprised many by accepting the role at Lazio last summer and has repeatedly clashed in public with President Claudio Lotito and director Igli Tare on transfer strategy and expectations.

He reiterated in yesterday’s press conference that a Champions League place had to be considered a “dream” rather than an objective for the Biancocelesti.

With that in mind, Il Messaggero suggest that both Inter and Milan are keeping an eye on the situation, ready to bring Sarri to San Siro next season.

Their campaigns are in the balance too, with Stefano Pioli under pressure despite winning the Scudetto last term and Simone Inzaghi criticised for dropping points in Serie A.
