Sinisa Mihajlovic’s funeral is being held in Rome, attended by several Serie A stars and legends, including Francesco Totti, Roberto Mancini, Gigio Donnarumma and the entire Lazio squad.

The former Serie A defender and coach died on Friday, December 16 at the Clinica Paideia in Rome. He had been diagnosed with leukaemia twice in the last three years, first in 2019 and then this past March.

His funerals are being held at Chiesa Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Roma this morning.

The entire Lazio squad is attending the funeral. Their boss Maurizio Sarri was a close friend of Miha and the 53-year-old played for the Biancocelesti from 1998 until 2004.

Roberto Mancini, Francesco Totti and Gigio Donnarumma, among others, have also arrived at the church in Rome’s city centre to say goodbye to Miha for one last time.

Mancini and Mihajlovic spent almost 30 years together, playing together at Lazio and Sampdoria. Mihajlovic began his coaching career as Mancini’s assistant at Inter in 2006.

The Italy coach wrote an emotional letter to his friend on Saturday, saying that Mihajlovic had inspired the best goal in his career.

Gigio Donnarumma, who made his senior debut with Milan under Mihajlovic, aged 16, is also at the church and will return to Rome after the service.
