‘Mihajlovic will come good’

Catania striker Maxi Lopez has told Fiorentina supporters that Sinisa Mihajlovic will come good in the end and that he just needs more time.

Mihajlovic is under pressure, as the Viola are performing well below expectation and currently lie in 12th place in Serie A.

This morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Fiorentina will review his position at the end of the season.

Gian Piero Gasperini is the favourite to replace Mihajlovic should the Della Valle family choose to change direction.

This morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Fiorentina will review his position at the end of the season.

Gian Piero Gasperini is the favourite to replace Mihajlovic should the Della Valle family choose to change direction.

As for Maxi Lopez, he worked with Mihajlovic at Catania during the second half of last season and scored 11 goals in 17 games.

Speaking ahead of Catania's match against Fiorentina, he said: "Sinisa is a great person of strong character and he manages to transmit grit and determination to his players.

"I had a great relationship with him. We always argued on the pitch, but for me this was a great motivation.

"Fiorentina are a team who have done very well in the last five years, and have shown that they deserve to be near the top of the table, but like all teams, you can have a season out of the ordinary.

"For this reason I don't believe that it's the fault of the Coach. Actually, I am certain that soon Mihajlovic will show how much he is worth as a Coach and that his team deserves more."
