Mihajlovic urges Fiorentina focus

Sinisa Mihajlovic hopes Fiorentina can stop Lecce's fine run of form, but is distracted by off the field issues too.

“It is a tricky encounter with Lecce, but we must only focus on ourselves and improving our own football,” said the Coach.

“We must be concentrated for the entire game, maintain patience and realise they are going through a good period of form.

“We must be concentrated for the entire game, maintain patience and realise they are going through a good period of form.

“If we just think about putting in a strong performance, then the result will come in the end. We absolutely cannot step on to the field with a sense of anxiety.”

There is tension around the Viola after they slipped down the standings, but the January transfer window is not helping matters either.

“I do not expect any new signings. The important thing for us is to get our injured players back and those who are awaiting contract renewals, like Mario Alberto Santana, Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Donadel and Gianluca Comotto.

“If the club asks my view on their work, then it cannot help but be positive. They gave their all and I'd be happy if they stayed here.”

Sebastien Frey, Stevan Jovetic, Cesare Natali and Juan Manuel Vargas are out of the game with Lecce.

Vargas was already injured, but was fortunate to emerge unscathed from a car crash over the weekend.
