Mihajlovic ready for Fiorentina jeers

Sinisa Mihajlovic admits “we've got ear plugs” to block out fan protests if Fiorentina fail against Genoa tomorrow.

“The team trained well and knows tomorrow will be a very tough game,” said the Coach who has been locked in a pre-match training camp with his players since Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Lazio.

“Considering the protest, I will choose the players who can most handle the pressure. We've already got our ear plugs at the ready.

“Are the fans right to jeer us? If someone hadn't understood our situation before, then they do now, although there is also the risk that some lads could not react well to the atmosphere and become gripped by fear.”

The Viola are in dire straits, have plummeted to 13th place and are only five points clear of the relegation zone.

“In these cases, the first to pay is always the Coach and that is only right,” confessed Mihajlovic.

“A club wants results, so I cannot complain. I continue doing my work and trying to give my mentality to the team. The only certainty is that I will never resign.”

Amid the chaos there are reports Adrian Mutu could be brought back into the side, especially as a bid for Bari's Paulo Barreto collapsed on deadline day.

“The club told me it will wait for the decision of the Disciplinary Commission on Mutu, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be brought back.”

Meanwhile, Juan Manuel Vargas is again ruled out of the Genoa game after pulling up with an ankle injury during today's training session.
