“I expect what I expect from every game, which is to go out there with the right attitude and play to win,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We want to end the season with a victory, although I told the lads not to underestimate Parma. We must compliment Roberto Donadoni and know Parma can play free from pressure.

“I am a man of football and believe that Genoa deserve to go into Europe. If they don’t, then Samp deserve it, albeit keeping in mind we need a result.

“Even if we don’t get into Europe, we must not consider this a negative campaign. We must compliment the lads for all they’ve done.

“I know where I came from and that I have always done better than my predecessor, while those who followed me have done worse. The statistics say that.

“My future? I’ll go to my house in Rome, then Belgrade to say hello to my mother and nephews.”

Mihajlovic has been heavily linked with the Napoli bench and a few months ago said he had “a debt” with old club Sampdoria.

“I think my debt is paid,” he said when asked about that quote.

“I always feel emotional when I go to the stadium, it doesn’t matter if it is my first or my last game. I always try to remain sharp and concentrated, sending relaxed vibes to the players.

“As I said when I arrived, I am a Sampdoria fan and always tried to honour the shirt. Regardless of what could happen, Samp will always be my home.

“Considering everything we’ve done in the last 18 months, I don’t think any Sampdoria fans would be unhappy.”

There are reports Mihajlovic himself suggested Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri to be his successor.

“The club will decide who to pick if I were to leave. I can give some advice, but the club makes the decision.

“Sarri showed himself to be a very good Coach and did great things at Empoli, but you in the media have already linked many people to the Samp bench.”
