Chievo visit in the lunchtime kick-off and Sinisa Mihajlovic confirms “Adrian Mutu feels in debt to Fiorentina.”

The Romanian made his return to the side last week after a lengthy doping ban and a police investigation for his altercation with a waiter.

“Despite it all, Adrian is an intelligent lad,” said his Coach. “At this moment he feels in debt to the team, the city, the fans and the club. I am convinced that at the end he will get things back on level terms.”

Mihajlovic had his own clashes during his playing and management career, so has he changed from his time at Bologna and Catania?

“I always try to do my work with passion, conviction and humility. In football it is important to learn from your mistakes, as that is how you gain experience.”

The Viola need the experience of Artur Boruc, as Sebastien Frey is out for the next six months after knee ligament surgery. Riccardo Montolivo also misses out and will need an operation on his ankle.

“Artur is a number one goalkeeper. He has experience, is reliable and has great characteristics,” noted Mihajlovic.

“Adem Ljajic has done very well up until now and he too will find space, but again Juan Manuel Vargas is at risk due to injury concerns.

“I tried changing the system in Genoa and we got battered. We'll see, but as we played with the 4-2-3-1 all summer, it's only right that we carry on like this.”

Chievo are missing star striker Sergio Pellissier for the game, which kicks off at 11.30 UK time.

“Pellissier is certainly a great forward and when he's on the pitch you really notice him, but Davide Moscardelli and Pablo Granoche are also quality players.

“Chievo are a very organised side and can trouble any opponent because everybody works hard for the unit.”
