Mihajlovic: ‘Many waiting for my job’

Sinisa Mihajlovic “would like to stay for many years” at Fiorentina, “although I know many others are waiting to take my place.”

The Viola are struggling at the moment and face an extremely tough test against high-flying Palermo.

“I know that my job is sought-after and that pleases me,” said the Serb.

“I am proud to be the Coach of Fiorentina and would like to stay for many years, but I also realise I need results.

The Viola are struggling at the moment and face an extremely tough test against high-flying Palermo.

“I know that my job is sought-after and that pleases me,” said the Serb.

“I am proud to be the Coach of Fiorentina and would like to stay for many years, but I also realise I need results.

“I know many people are waiting to take my place and even turning down other offers because they believe I'm in the balance.

“I have been in football for 20 years, I know how it works, who are the Coaches who put themselves forward and those who don't. I never would.

“In my career I have always preferred to be considered a good man before a good player or Coach. I am an honest person and will not stand for subterfuge.”

President Andrea Della Valle and director general Pantaleo Corvino have confirmed their faith in Mihajlovic, despite some fan protests.

“That was pleasing, but there was no need, because I knew it. I do not worry, I won't start wringing my hands and will only focus on the present.”
