The Viola have had a mixed start to the season after collecting two wins, two draws and two losses in Serie A so far.

Mihajlovic was already under pressure from disgruntled fans and the 0-0 draw with Cesena at the weekend complicated matters.

"We can't be happy with the game on Sunday and the Coach isn't either," director Sandro Mencucci told Italia 7.

"Yet now is not the moment to put Mihajlovic on trial. The Coach is not to be touched at this point and we hope he can stay with us for some time to come.

"We have to split the season up into three parts," Mencucci continued. "Before making any judgements we have to get to the end of the first stage.

"On paper we have a competitive squad, we just have to figure out which mechanism is needed to get them playing well."

Mihajlovic, who arrived in Florence from Catania in the summer of 2010, rejected a summer offer from Inter for his services.
