The Serbian took over from Filippo Inzaghi this summer, and Zapata believes his impact is already being felt.
“He’s a good Coach,” the Colombian international said after a draw with Peru.
“He has a certain type of character, he’s always working and he’s changed the mentality of the players.

“The derby? We know the Milan derby is a beautiful fixture, we definitely need to do well. My message to the fans is that we’ll give everything we have to win the derby.”
Zapata also had words of praise for Mario Balotelli, who has returned to the Rossoneri on loan following an unsuccessful move to Liverpool.
“In the last few days I saw a lad who wanted to work. He wants to find his place in the team, and we hope he can do it.”
