Sinisa Mihajlovic admits Fiorentina are on the look-out for “an Alberto Aquilani-style player” as they push for Europe.

The Tuscans have been heavily linked with the unsettled Liverpool man, who returned to Anfield when Juventus” data-scaytid=”12″>Juventus refused to take up their option.

“I would like to play the 4-3-1-2 system, but that means we'd need an Aquilani-style player,” declared the Coach in today's Press conference.

“Romulo will help, as he reminds me of early Douglas Maicon, but we have to work on his defensive skills. As for Stevan Jovetic, I asked him not to get hurt…”

Jovetic is set to take centre stage after missing all of last season due to a devastating knee injury.

Adrian Mutu has left for Cesena, while Riccardo Montolivo is likely to exit after refusing another contract extension.

“The club has done its all to keep hold of Montolivo, so now it's up to him. It won't be easy for him in an environment like Florence. I also told Gila not to think about the contract, as he seems to be really fired up.

“This year, as the last, our only objective is Europe. Last season nobody could've foreseen that many injuries, but this term we aim to finish in the top six or seven.

“It's true the transfer market is a little static, as we have to sell before we can buy, but I remain confident. There isn't much enthusiasm among the fans, but those of us working at the club have faith.”

Mihajlovic also made a pledge for the new campaign to end a certain Serie A habit.

“If there is an opponent on the ground, we will not stop playing, and the same goes for our own teammates. I used to drop down when I needed to as well; I know how these things work. I warn everyone from now: we won't stop.”
