Sinisa Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy and will remain in hospital for at least three weeks, confirmed Bologna.

The Coach was diagnosed with acute leukaemia earlier this month and began an aggressive course of treatment.

A statement released this afternoon confirmed Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy, which began on Thursday July 18, without complications.

The response was as expected from medics at the Istituto Seragnoli in the Sant’Orsola hospital in Bologna.

Mihajlovic will remain in the clinic for at least another three weeks for close monitoring of his response to treatment.

In the meantime, he continues to interact with his staff and is following all Bologna’s training sessions via livestreaming services from his hospital bed.
