“Fonseca is doing well especially considering all the difficulties. I like Roma because they play good football,” the Bologna coach said at a press conference.

Roma beat Ajax 2-1 on Thursday, but Leonardo Spinazzolla picked up an injury that will see him miss the match against Bologna.

“I must say I may have brought him bad luck,” Mihajlovic said.

“I was watching the game and he was doing so well. I didn’t know how I could stop him. As soon as I thought it, he got injured.

“I am sorry for him, but I admit I would have needed Valentino Rossi to stop him.”

Mihajlovic confirmed he was close to becoming the new Roma coach in 2019.

“I was ready, but I rejected [their offer],” the coach revealed.
