Milan Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic ‘did not like the attitude’ of his team after Perugia went down to 10 men in the Coppa Italia.

The Rossoneri were comfortable 2-0 winners in the Serbian’s first official match in charge, but eased off considerably after the visitors had Davide Lanzafame sent off.

“I didn’t like the attitude,” Mihajlovic told reporters after the match.

“After the sending off we didn’t try to get a goal. We did keep possession, but it was a kind of possession I didn’t like.

“We must always play to our maximum, always trying to score goals and we didn’t do that.

“You could see our organisation, you could see our character, you could see our pressing, there were a lot of good things.

“But there are many things that still need to improve.”

Nigel De Jong started the match ahead of Riccardo Montolivo, but Mihajlovic insists that doesn’t mean the Italian will be frozen out.

“I said I’d play the best Milan team possible. At the moment, De Jong is a lot better than Montolivo. But maybe in a month Montolivo will be better than De Jong, and then Montolivo will play.

“Those who deserve it will play.”
