Mihajlovic accepts Montolivo exit

Fiorentina Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is preparing himself to lose Riccardo Montolivo. “I'm sure he'll be adequately replaced.”

The captain has repeatedly postponed talks for a contract renewal and been linked with the likes of Inter, Juventus and Roma.

“Who wouldn't want Montolivo? He has proved himself to be a great player and whatever decision he makes, I will respect it,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“Who wouldn't want Montolivo? He has proved himself to be a great player and whatever decision he makes, I will respect it,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia.

“If Montolivo does leave, then I'm sure he will be adequately replaced. I have faith in our director of sport Pantaleo Corvino to bring in the best alternative.”

Mihajlovic was also asked if he was in negotiations with Inter last summer, before Rafa Benitez was hired.

“I do talk to the President every now and then and there is mutual respect, but I have never been close to signing for Inter.”

Mihajlovic was at the club as both player and assistant manager for Roberto Mancini.
