Former Inter defender Sinisa Mihajlovic admitted he was ‘surprised’ by Antonio Conte, who decided to leave the Nerazzurri.
Conte left Inter by mutual consent after having won the Scudetto in 2020-21 and Mihajlovic was initially linked with the vacant position.
SportMediaset reports Simone Inzaghi is set to be appointed new coach at the Giuseppe Meazza, but that the official announcement might be pushed to next week.
Mihajlovic could also be one of the many coaches to change sides in Serie A, as the former centre-back has been linked with former club Lazio.
The Serbian 52-year-old commented Conte’s decision to leave Inter after two successful years with the Beneamata.
“It was a surprising choice,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia. “But he must have had his reasons.”
Conte has been linked with Real Madrid after the Spanish giants announced Zinedine Zidane leaves the job for the second time.
