The Felsinei coach has helped Bologna sit 11th in Serie A with two games remaining and have a great chance of climbing into the top half when they face Fiorentina and Torino in their last two games this campaign.
It has been a difficult season for the Rossoblu, who initially went through uncertain times and had to cope without their coach for months.

Mihajlovic was diagnosed with leukaemia on July 11 and has been in and out of hospital since, with several courses of chemotherapy, followed by a bone marrow transplant.
The Serbian, who is already a honorary citizen of Novi Sad, has been recognised by the municipality and told the club’s official website: “Becoming an honorary citizen of Bologna is a great source of pride.
“This is the second citizenship I receive after Novi Sad, but for me who is Serbian, becoming a citizen of an Italian city is a great honour.
“Bologna is an excellence of this country, a university city and one of the most beautiful in Italy. I hope to always set a good example and honour the name of Bologna at all times.”
