Club President Silvio Berlusconi criticised the Serbian Coach, claiming he was lacking something in the tactical side of the game.

After warning that changing the formation wouldn’t solve the club’s problems, the former defender then hit out at media reports that he had been told to play differently.

“There is no formation that makes you win or lose,” Mihajlovic insisted in his pre-Torino Press conference.

“In recent weeks I’ve read so many things, including that the club has asked me to change formation. Whoever wrote that doesn’t know me, I talk with the club, but only I am responsible for the tactics.

“Right now we need more unity. We haven’t been able to work, as we’ve had 11 or 12 players missing. If you don’t go onto the pitch with the right attitude, it doesn’t matter what formation you’re in.

“Who said that we’ll change formation? Let’s see tomorrow, I don’t know if there’s cause for a change.

“We have nine players, how can I change formation? We’ll see tomorrow if there will be a change, but I do my own thing, and I take full responsibility.

“I stopped as Coach of the [Serbian] national team, because I like the day-to-day pressure. I spent a few days at home [over the international break], then I came back here and did what I like to do, which is working.”

In each of the Rossoneri’s four defeats they have failed to score after going behind, but Mihajlovic bristles at suggestions his players have the wrong attitude.

“It’s not true that we haven’t had a reaction [to going behind]. Starting with Fiorentina, we definitely could have done better after going a man down and a goal down.

“Against Inter we hit the post, against Genoa we had several chances. I also want to clarify something I read somewhere, that my team runs the least in Italy.

“It’s inaccurate, because we’re interested in intensity, not total distance. Apart from that, it’s a false figure because seven games were counted for the 19 other teams, and only six for Milan.

“The other thing is that Milan have often played a man down, and not all matches last the same length of time.

“I’m not going to argue with newspapers, but I expect the journalists of major newspapers to check false data before they report it.”

The former Sampdoria Coach also confirmed that Mario Balotelli will not be fit to face the Granata tomorrow.

“Injuries are part of our work,” Mihajlovic shrugged.

“He has a bit of an issue with his groin, and he’s still feeling a little pain. Hopefully on Monday he’ll be back with the group.”
