Milan Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic compliments Alessandria and their fans after tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg.
The Rossoneri recorded a comfortable 5-0 victory to set up a final with either Juventus or Inter, but the Serbian was keen to praise the Lega Pro side, who brought around 13,000 fans to San Siro.
“I want to compliment Alessandria, [Coach Angelo] Gregucci and the Grigi fans who supported their team throughout the game,” Mihajlovic started his post-match Press conference by saying.

“It was fundamental for us to win today, to get to the final and give minutes to those who haven’t played a lot. Knowing Gregucci I’m sure they’ll reach their objectives.
“We’ve known each other for a while, I often see him on holiday. I respect him a lot.”
The Diavolo have now gone 11 games without defeat in all competitions, can they target third-place as well as the Coppa Italia?
“We’ve achieved our first objective. When we play the final we’ll try to bring the trophy home too. We’re all happy, the Coppa Italia was always one of our objectives.
“Now we have to think about the League though.
“The next few games are important if we win, because Fiorentina and Roma can’t both win. It won’t be easy at Sassuolo though, they’re very organised.
“Milan have never won there, but there’s always a first time…”
Tonight saw some of the lesser-used players given some game time, and Mihajlovic believes that will stand them in good stead for the rest of the season.
“I’m happy for [Andrea] Poli, he’s a guarantee because he always has the right attitude. [Jeremy] Menez and [Mario] Balotelli aren’t in the right condition yet, they can only reach top condition by playing.
“Balotelli’s goal? It’s important for a striker to score, he and Menez have been out for a long time, now they’re fine.
“That wasn’t the best Menez out there, he’s still not in peak condition. Last year he was Milan’s top scorer.
“He, Mario and Luiz [Adriano] will be crucial for the end of the season.”
