The striker returned to the Rossoneri on loan from Liverpool in the summer, but has missed most of the season with a hernia.

However, club President Silvio Berlusconi said this week that the Diavolo are considering buying him outright, and the Coach maintains everything depends on Balotelli.

“He’s done quite well, it all depends on him,” Mihajlovic told reporters in his Press conference ahead of the Torino game. Click here for a match preview.

“When he takes to the field he must give everything, it’s crucial that he goes out there with the right attitude.

“I see him the same way I see the other players. I wanted him here, and he must prove he’s maturing every day.”

The Rossoneri have lost just once in all competitions since their defeat to Juventus in November, and Mihajlovic can see improvement in his side.

“At the start we played with a formation that wasn’t good for us. Now we’re doing well, we shouldn’t repeat the mistakes from the first half of the season, and try to pick up points against the smaller teams.

“Our goal is to win against the smaller teams in the second half of the season, starting from tomorrow.

“After [the first game with] Napoli [a 4-0 defeat] many said that we’d collapse but I was always positive.

“I thought about resolving the problems first of all, but I was convinced that we would climb back. The lads were good, they worked hard and the results came.

“In the first half of the season we had several problems, now we win or draw.”

Goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma turned 17 yesterday, were there any doubts about including him in the team at such a young age?

“Diego Lopez wasn’t doing well because he had a physical problem,” Mihajlovic reminded the assembled journalists.

“I spoke with [Christian] Abbiati too, and he told me to play Gigio. I was afraid of burning him, but then when I saw his mentality I knew that wouldn’t happen.”
