Lazio have a crisis in defensive midfield, as both Milan Badelj and Lucas Leiva look set to be out for around a month.

Badelj made his comeback against Inter last night, but he had to ask to be substituted in the first half.

The Croatian has suffered another injury to his right thigh flexor, and will have scans in the next 48 hours.

According to RadioSei, Lucas isn’t expected to return for at least a month with an injury of his own, with the Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that he’s targeting the Milan game on November 25.

The midfield injury crisis could present an opportunity for Danilo Cataldi though, who has played only 58 Serie A minutes this season.

The 24-year-old is seen as the forgotten man in the Aquile squad, with his only other action this season coming in a 16 minute cameo in the Europa League win at Marseille.
