Napoli have confirmed that striker Michu will be out for at least two months after undergoing ankle surgery.

The Partenopei do not have their problems to seek in the attacking department, with Lorenzo Insigne out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury, and Dries Mertens recovering after a severe head-knock.

Now the club has confirmed that Spanish striker Michu, on loan from English Premier League side Swansea will be unavailable for at least two months after going under the knife yesterday.

In a statement on their official website, Napoli confirmed:

“With regard to yesterday’s surgery on the footballer Michu, we can confirm that he underwent a right ankle arthroscopy to clean up some bone fragments, the removal of an osteophyte, and for plasma treatment.

“The striker’s return to the field is not expected any sooner than two months’ time.”
