“The impressions are good, I’m adapting well. I came here to work, to give my all and to return to my best form. I want to work well for a great season,” Michu began today.

“In terms of scoring goals I will say that I will work, I would liked to score a lot, but if I do not then I will be at the disposal of the team, and I can even put on the gloves to help, if I have to…
“My best position? Behind the forward, but I can make myself available to all the directions of the Coach.
“I want to feel good, train well, aim to win everything and see that people are happy. If all goes well, and all parties are happy, there is no time limit [to staying on at the club].
“A goal against Juventus perhaps? I am a player who identifies a lot with the fans. I hope to score many goals, even many against Juventus, who are eternal rivals.”
Michu was on the verge of breaking into the Spanish national team before form and fitness deserted him last year.
“Benitez has the same playing style as my previous team. I like this a lot and I am happy. It is difficult to get into the national team, I was close, but I will continue to fight to get there.
“I know it is hard to play here [for Spaniards], but Callejon and Llorente have done very well and I want to do as well as them and prove wrong that Spaniards are not for the Italian League.
“I’m getting better, the injury is behind me.”
