Mexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has landed in Italy, where he will have a medical and sign for Serie A club Salernitana.
The 37-year-old was fresh from his World Cup exploits, which included saving a penalty from Robert Lewandowski in the 0-0 draw with Poland.
His contract with Club America expires on December 31, so he can join Salernitana as a free agent.
Ochoa landed this afternoon at the Capodichino airport in Naples and then travelled by car to nearby Salerno.
According to Sky Sport Italia, he is due to sign a contract that only runs to June 30, 2023.
It will be his first Serie A experience, having previously played for Club America in Mexico, Ajaccio in France, Malaga and Granada in Spain and Belgium’s Standard Liege.
Ochoa is a legend in Mexico and amassed 135 senior caps for his country.
Salernitana had used Luigi Sepe as their first choice goalkeeper so far this season, but went for a more international name going into the second half of the campaign.
