“We lost because of Balotelli,” the tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “It was only that bit of play from him which made the difference.
“Up until that goal, I did not see a great deal of difference between Mexico and Italy.”
The Azzurri will play Japan on Wednesday, while the Mexicans’ next tie will be against tournament hosts Brazil.
