The defender’s deal had expired on June 30 and he appeared to be let go by Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, but President Silvio Berlusconi reportedly intervened to ensure a new one-year spell.

“I am very proud to still be at Milan,” Mexes told Milan Channel.
