Barcelona look likely to start Lionel Messi against Tottenham Hotspur, a crucial game for Inter’s Champions League hopes.

The Nerazzurri must better the English side’s result tonight, as Spurs have the away goals advantage with both sides on seven points.

Barça have already won the group and have nothing to play for, and if Tottenham win then Luciano Spalletti’s side go out, no matter their result against PSV.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Thomas Vermaelen will be given a rare start for the Blaugrana, as will youngsters Munir El Haddadi, Carles Aleñá and Juan Miranda.

However, it also looks likely that Lionel Messi will play, as will Phillipe Coutinho, Arturo Vidal and Sergio Busquets.

Messi has six goals and one assist in his three Champions League games so far this season, with 17 goals and nine assists across 16 games in all competitions.

Spurs, meanwhile, will be without Mousa Dembélé, Kieran Trippier, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, Victor Wanyama and Serge Aurier.

Harry Kane will start though, having been rested by Mauricio Pochettino at the weekend.

Probable line-ups:

Barcelona: Cillessen; Semedo, Vermaelen, Lenglet, Miranda; Aleñá, Busquets, Vidal; Coutinho, Munir, Messi

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Winks; Alli, Eriksen, Son; Kane
