Leo Messi could join Gigio Donnarumma and Marco Verratti at PSG, with the Ligue 1 giants reportedly in advanced talks to sign the former Barcelona star.

Messi could be the four free agents to move to Paris this summer after the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Gigio Donnarumma.

PSG have also secured the services of Achraf Hakimi from Inter for €71m, including bonuses.

Both Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia report PSG are in advanced talks to sign the Argentinean striker who, just two days ago, posed for a picture with his compatriots Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes and the likes of Neymar and Marco Verratti.

Fabrizio Romano reports talks between PSG and Messi are progressing, intending to find the right ‘structure’ for the deal.

PSG are confident they are close to reaching an agreement soon, adds Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia.

Meanwhile, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the Premier League giants are not planning to sign the Argentinean superstar.

“We spent on Jack Grealish and he will wear the No.10 because we are convinced about him and thought Leo would stay. Now, Messi is not in our plans,” the Spanish coach claimed.

During a pre-match press conference ahead of the opening Ligue 1 game of the season, PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino did not deny that the Ligue 1 giants are negotiating to secure Messi’s services but claimed his possible move to Paris doesn’t mean Kylian Mbappé will leave.

“Of course signing Messi is a possibility,” he said.

“The club is working on it and if there is any information we will communicate it as soon as possible.”

  1. Barca can’t afford him due to FFP/Wage restrictions.. Yet PSG have picked up Gigio, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi on top of their already crazy wage bill. Now they’re wanting to add MESSI?! How can this be allowed under FFP? How on Earth can any club afford this? Let alone a club that finishes second in their own middle tier league?
