According to multiple reports in Italy, PSG star Leo Messi was surprised by Lazio starlet Luka Romero and even suggested the Ligue 1 giants sign the 17-year-old.

Romero was included in the Argentinean squad for the international break in March when he had the chance to show his worth to coach Lionel Scaloni and veterans Angel Di Maria and Messi.

The promising and versatile attacking winger will turn 18 in November and has already attracted many admirers, including his most notable compatriot. Multiple reports in Italy suggest Messi was surprised by the qualities of the Argentinean winger, who is under contract with the Biancocelesti until 2023.

Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper suggests Messi even told PSG directors to consider a move for his compatriot in the summer. However, Lazio will offer Romero a five-year contract extension in November, as soon as he turns 18.

Lazio and Maurizio Sarri are happy with the player’s development, although Romero has only played four Serie A games this season, making his debut in August in a home 6-1 win over Salernitana.
