Napoli winger Dries Mertens has revealed that he 'wants to stay' at the club, and 'will renew his contract' in the coming weeks.
The Belgian scored a hat-trick for his national side against Estonia on Sunday evening, and his thoughts turned back to domestic action after the final whistle.
"At Napoli we have lost a bit of ground," the 29-year-old told Premium Sport. "It is a positive moment for us however, because we have scored 21 times but have conceded very little.
"I remain optimistic because we have a great team and we can still win the Scudetto. We just have to keep working like this because the results will come.
"Now we must think about the league and the match against Udinese. After the match against Juventus, we will now focus on the return game against Dynamo Kiev.
"If we win the match we will have qualified for the knockout stages, so for the time being we will concentrate on this.
“I want to stay at Napoli, in fact I hope to renew my contract in the coming weeks.”
