Napoli are awaiting news from the Belgium camp after Dries Mertens hurt his shoulder in the World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic.

The striker had started the game, but was substituted in Prague after 56 minutes.

According to the latest reports, the change was due to Mertens falling awkwardly onto his shoulder.

More tests will be required and it’s hoped this is just a knock.

Napoli have every reason to be anxious, considering Victor Osimhen dislocated his shoulder while on international duty with Nigeria in November and was out for over two months.

Mertens has just returned after badly spraining his ankle in December.
