Dries Mertens is still trying to decide his future, between a possible return to Napoli, staying in Serie A with Juventus or moving abroad for Olympique Marseille.

The striker is the all-time top scorer in Napoli’s history, yet the club did not take up the option to extend his contract when it expired on June 30.

They tried to renegotiate a new deal worth approximately half his previous salary, but he turned down the €2.4m per season offer.

While some still hope the two parties can agree a compromise eventually, Mertens is looking at other alternatives.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport, Juventus are interested in Mertens for his ability to play as a centre-forward or wide in support of Dusan Vlahovic.

Meanwhile, le10sport in France suggest that Olympique Marseille have approached the Belgium international.

He would be the second free agent to make the move from Serie A this summer, as Alexis Sanchez is ready to terminate his contract with Inter by mutual consent and join Marseille.
