Lazio are looking for free agents in the summer, reportedly including Federico Bernardeschi of Juventus and Dries Mertens from Napoli.
The Aquile have a cash-flow issue that prevented them from signing any new players last summer until sales had been made first, with several training for weeks without deposited contracts.
According to Il Messaggero newspaper, the plan next term is therefore to target free agents who are leaving other Serie A clubs.
Bernardeschi has already been mentioned, as he does not seem ready to agree terms for a new deal at Juventus and is desperate for some regular playing time.
A very intriguing name on the list is Mertens, who of course was transformed from winger into a prolific centre-forward by Maurizio Sarri at Napoli.
Although the Belgium international has said many times he wants to remain at Napoli, he also made it very clear the club has the option to extend.
It is out of his hands and most reports point to Napoli having no real intention of keeping their all-time top scorer, even with a reduced salary.
🦅 #Lazio, #Mertens a zero è più di un’idea.
Il #Napoli ha un’opzione per il rinnovo ma il belga sembra lontano dai progetti futuri azzurri

Bernadeschi will be good there as he not Juve material
LOL Barnardeschi is not even Lazio material.
Mertens is quality and Sarri knows how to use him.
