Napoli paid €22m plus bonuses to get Meret over the summer and he finally gave a glimpse of why with two spectacular last-gasp saves in yesterday’s 1-0 win over SPAL.

“I am particularly happy for him, because he’s an extraordinary guy and it’s pretty much unanimous that he has immense talent,” agent Pastorello told Radio 24.

“After months of suffering and a long lay-off, he deserves this moment. We hope that Napoli fans can now enjoy Meret’s performances consistently.

“Carlo Ancelotti has a lot of faith in him and Carletto has worked with the best, so he knows what he’s talking about.

“Meret can keep a cool head under pressure. We are dealing with a great goalkeeper here and all of Italian football will benefit from him playing regularly.”
