The French forward has played just 31 minutes of Serie A football so far this season, amid a lengthy recovery from a back injury.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain attacker started tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, and scored twice in a 5-0 win over Alessandria.

“I’m very happy tonight, I missed being on the pitch with my teammates like this,” Menez told reporters after the match.

“They’ve always been close to me, as have the President [Silvio Berlusconi], the Coach [Sinisa Mihajlovic] and the staff. I want to thank them.

“We’re all happy, we haven’t been in the Coppa final for a while. We have to win in the final, we’re not going to the final to lose.”

The Rossoneri will face either Juventus or Inter, with the Bianconeri up 3-0 after the first leg of the other semi-final.
