The Leoes have qualified for the Champions League by winning the Primeira Liga for the first time in 19 years and Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro said she will ‘try to convince’ the superstar to return.
But agent Mendes has denied a possible return to the Verde e Brancos, even if Ronaldo enters his last year of his contract with Juventus and the rumours of a future elsewhere continue.
“Cristiano is proud of the title won by Sporting, as he has publicly demonstrated,” Mendes told Record.
“But at the moment his career plans do not go through Portugal.”
Ronaldo started his career with Sporting and moved to Manchester United in 2003, before he joined Real Madrid six years later.
