Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has laughed off claims that his €25m price tag has weighed him down in Turin, joking that "I'm now worth €35m."

The charismatic Brazilian had a truly disastrous first year at the club on the back of his high profile move from Fiorentina and was later voted Flop of the Year.

He was even blamed for Brazil's World Cup exit after getting himself sent off against Holland.

But Melo has turned things around this season and is finally living up to his billing under new boss Gigi Del Neri.

Interviewed in Tuttosport, he said: "I have changed. I go on the pitch and I don't do certain things anymore, certain tackles, fights and certain mistakes.

"And don't ask me if it's the best Felipe Melo because I am never satisfied with myself. I always want to grow more."

Asked if his €25m move had got the better of him, the 27-year-old joked: "Actually no. I am now worth €35m. Anyway a lot of things have changed. I don't love questions about the past.

"I want to win a trophy with this shirt and, if Agnelli wants me to, I would stay in black and white forever."
