Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has issued a battle cry, telling his teammates that they must beat Inter in the Derby d'Italia this weekend.

The Old Lady lies down in eighth place in Serie A, 11 points adrift of League leaders Milan.

"The game against Inter is special," Melo told the Juventus Channel. "It's the Derby d'Italia and it can influence your morale as well as your standing in the League table.

"A defeat can leave you on the floor, but a win can boost you.

"We are training well and hard because we want to win at all costs.

"The victory at Cagliari allowed us to get back into the race for the Champions League places and now we must fight in every game.

"It's too soon to tell where we might finish. We'll do the calculations in two months."

Asked about Juventus' change of system from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3, Melo said: "Personally I am fine in any position in central midfield either in a three or with two.

"The important thing is to win and this is the only thing that gives me joy," he concluded.
