The former Fiorentina man finally joined the Nerazzurri on transfer deadline day yesterday, following a drawn-out transfer saga.
“I’m very happy, and for my family too,” Melo told Inter Channel.
“We’ve talked about Inter not just for months, but for years. This has been a dream for some time, and I’m delighted to be here.
“I’ll work a lot, I’ll never give up. I’m not always 100 per cent technically, but running and working hard for my teammates are my strengths.
“I’m sure the fans will be behind me, I’ll fight on the pitch, because that’s my strength.”
The move represents a reunion with Coach Roberto Mancini, and Melo spoke highly of the Beneamata boss.
“We won together at Galatasaray, he’s someone who always wins, and to work for such an expert is nice. I’m not anyone’s ‘favourite’, I like to win, and to do that for a club like Inter is every player’s dream.”
