“I was told something like that,” he admitted to La Stampa. “But I knew it was going to end up this way.

“I'm a religious man and I believe that God steers our destiny. I wanted Inter, and God helped me.

“When we were at Galatasaray Mancini told me, 'if I leave, I'll take you with me'. And that's what happened.

“In Turkey I had a golden deal, but I wanted something else.

“My bad times at Juventus? They always laid the blame on me, but things weren't like that.

“Now we've closed the distance with Juventus and we're aiming for the Scudetto. There's a great drive to win here.”
