Ismael Bannacer stole the show from Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he was named MVP in Bologna-Milan by the main Italian sports papers.
The Algeria international scored the winner in a hard-fought win at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
Despite being down to ten men, Bologna recovered from two goals down in the second half, before Bennacer scored the winner with five minutes remaining.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had started his first game in five months and scored an own goal before netting Milan’s fourth goal in the stoppages.
The Swede was rated 6/10 by each one of the main Italian sports papers.
‘Bologna do not bring luck to him,’ wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘Last year, he missed a penalty, this time, he scored an own goal, but made up for it with a late strike.’
Bennacer was named MVP with a rating of 7/10.
The 23-year-old didn’t only score Milan’s third goal, but assisted Ibrahimovic for the Diavoli’s fourth.
The former Empoli star ‘saved Milan’ with a late goal ‘but he took a while to get into the game,’ wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport. ‘He was there when Milan needed him the most.’
Bennacer has played the last three games in a row and has never missed a game this season, having already played 626 minutes across 12 games.
