This is the former Manchester United midfielder’s first season in Italy, so how is he dealing with working under notorious taskmaster Conte at Napoli?

“The coach is very demanding, he wants to work with all the players on tactics and how we want to dominate the game. It’s important for us to take those messages on board, work and work and try to progress as much as possible.”

McTominay was asked if he could steal a skill from any of his current Napoli teammates, what would it be?

“The players all have a lot of qualities, but I’d go for Romelu’s finishing,” was the Scotland international’s reply.

The 27-year-old has already scored two goals in six games for Napoli between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, as well as providing an assist.

He was a product of the Manchester United youth academy and spent his entire career at Old Trafford until the €30.5m plus bonuses move to Napoli on transfer deadline day.
