Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has covered the most distance in Serie A so far this season, followed by Bologna’s Remo Freuler and Fiorentina’s Robin Gosens.

Scotland international McTominay has covered an average of 11,911 km per Serie A game this term, more than any other player in Italy’s top flight so far.

The former Manchester United star is followed by Bologna’s Remo Freuler with 11,742 km and Fiorentina’s Gonsens with 11,730 km.

The stats are from Lega Serie A, reported by Sky Sport Italia.

Tommaso Pobega (Bologna, 11,691 km) and Matteo Pessina (Monza, 11,682 km) complete the top five.

McTominay joined Napoli from Manchester United in a €30.5m deal last summer and has already become a regular starter at the Stadio Maradona, even convincing Antonio Conte to switch to a four-man defence.

McTominay has two goals and one assist in five Napoli appearances across all competitions this term.

Former Italian striker Paolo Di Canio has strongly criticised Man United directors for selling McTominay, even saying they should be arrested.
