Italian sources claim Scott McTominay was subbed off as a precautionary measure in Poland-Scotland on Monday, so the ex-Manchester United midfielder will be available against Roma on Sunday.

Napoli can breathe a sigh of relief over McTominay’s fitness, given that the 27-year-old won’t miss the upcoming league game against Roma at the Stadio Maradona.

McTominay was subbed off at minute 76 last night in Scotland’s 2-1 away win over Poland.

According to Sky Sport Italia, McTominay felt discomfort in the sole of his left foot, so he was replaced as a precaution. Napoli doctors have received updates on the midfielder’s fitness.

The Italian broadcasters and Corriere dello Sport claim the 27-year-old will undergo further checks on Wednesday.

However, his condition is not worrying, so Napoli and Antonio Conte have already received the green light to have the Scotsman available against Roma on Sunday.

McTominay joined Napoli in a €30m deal from Manchester United last summer and has two goals and two assists in nine Serie A appearances.
