According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United for Scott McTominay, but according to Sky Sport Italia, the Partenopei want to get Billy Gilmour from Brighton first.

Antonio Conte’s Napoli are pushing for a new central midfielder, and according to Sky, the Partenopei could eventually sign two new players in the middle of the park.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Napoli are finalising a deal for Gilmour, but the Scotland international started for the Seagulls against Manchester United on Saturday.

McTominay close in on Napoli move from Man Utd but Brighton send Gilmour signal

According to Corriere dello Sport, this signals that the Scotland international’s move to Napoli has been put on hold, especially because the 23-year-old had not been involved in any pre-season match.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Napoli still hope to see Gilmour undergo medical tests next week, but according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Partenopei have now prioritised McTominay.

The Rome-based paper claims that the Partenopei are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United and their Scottish midfielder who was introduced in the second half against Brighton yesterday.

According to Sky, Manchester United’s asking price for McTominay is €35m and Corriere dello Sport says that Napoli’s offer is close to €30m.
