Weston McKennie will have his medical with Leeds United on Sunday, so we look back at some of the USMNT midfielder’s best and strangest moments in the Juventus jersey.

Coach Max Allegri confirmed in today’s press conference that an agreement has been reached with the Premier League side for McKennie.

It is reported to be a six-month loan at €1.5m with an option to buy for a further €35m at the end of the season.

That option can become an obligation if certain conditions are met during his stay in Leeds.

McKennie had joined Juve from Schalke 04 in September 2020 and made 96 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists.

Born in America and raised largely in Germany on Army bases, he revealed his passion for Harry Potter by waving an imaginary wand in his goal celebrations.

His expressive face and open character made him a fan favourite with the Bianconeri, but going to the Premier League he at least won’t have the same language problems.

Famously his look of abject horror made television viewers laugh when the post-match interviewer started speaking in Italian, so much that the presenter had to stop the translation to assure McKennie that yes he would be asking the questions in English.

He got into trouble with the authorities during lockdown when neighbours called police to a dinner party he was having with teammates Paulo Dybala and Arthur Melo.

Above all, we will remember McKennie for this classic conversation he had with Giorgio Chiellini in the All Or Nothing documentary series.

Giving American cuisine a bad name, he confessed that coffee had an unfortunate effect on his bowels and he liked to put ranch sauce on pizza.
