Weston McKennie’s father hits back at an Arsenal fan saying the Juventus midfielder would not be good enough for the Gunners: ‘What are you smoking, so I can get some.’

The Gunners are reportedly monitoring the USMNT international, although Leeds are in advanced talks to sign him from Juventus.

Multiple reports in Italy claim they have offered €28m to sign the American midfielder in January, while the Gunners haven’t yet submitted an opening offer for the ex-Schalke 04 man.

However, there is a debate on whether McKennie would suit Mikel Arteta’s system and a few Arsenal fans are not convinced he’d be good enough for the current Premier League leaders.

McKennie’s father doesn’t seem to agree and hit back at an Arsenal supporter on Twitter who claimed his son is not ‘technically good enough’ or has the ‘creative passing IQ’ to play for the North London side.

“What are you smoking so I can get some,” he sarcastically replied on Twitter.

McKennie joined Juventus on an initial loan deal from Schalke in 2020 and Juventus made his move permanent for €18m in March 2021.
