Weston McKennie has become a regular starter at Juventus, but Antonio Conte’s Tottenham remain interested in securing his services and the Old Lady must sell at least one midfielder in January.

The 23-year-old struggled with playing time at the beginning of the season.

The USA international has had off-the-pitch issues in 2021 and was suspended by both Juventus and USMNT for breaking COVID regulations in April and September, respectively.

However, he’s started five of Juventus’ last seven games, scoring two goals in the process.

Massimiliano Allegri praised the former Schalke 04 man after Saturday’s game against Fiorentina, saying that he is getting regular playing time because he is fitter than other Juventus midfielders at the moment.

Football Italia understands Tottenham are monitoring the situation of the 23-year-old who sees his contract expire in June 2025.

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is an admirer of McKennie, given that he signed him one year ago on a temporary loan deal from Schalke.

The Serie A giants made his move permanent for €18m in March.

Juventus want to sell at least one midfielder in the winter transfer window to cut their wage bill and make room for a new signing.

Their priority is to sell Aaron Ramsey, one of the club’s highest earners, but the Serie A giants are open o hearing offers for McKennie.

The Bianconeri are looking for offers in the region of €30m, but the player’s recent form could convince the Old Lady to keep hold of the 23-year-old, at least until the end of the season.

  1. Has had his problems in the recent past. Should we risk him? Only if he’s at the right price. Not much better, if at all, than our midfielders currently getting game time. Obviously an upgrade on Deli and, depending on how we would use him, an upgrade on Winks.
Would prefer Kessie, but he ain’t all that st the moment do he’s an even bigger risk because of the finances involved.

  2. McKennie is not going anywhere !! if Paratici wants a midfield then sell him Ramsey or Rabiot and maybe even Bentancur !

  3. Ramsey isn’t a “Conte” player, Rabiot does fit his style. With Bentancur, I think we are stuck with him for the length of the contract. I believe he has resale tag with his former club which impacts the profit of the sale.
