Here’s a recap of the transfers Serie A and Premier League clubs could compete in the final days of the January transfer window, from Weston McKennie to Nicolò Zaniolo and Hakim Ziyech.

The January transfer window in Serie A ends on Tuesday, January 31 at 19.00 GMT, while Premier League clubs have a few more hours available being allowed to register new signings until 23.00 GMT.

This means Italian clubs can sell players in England also after 19.00 GMT on Tuesday, but can’t sign new players after the deadline.

So, who could move to England from Italy and vice-versa?

Weston McKennie is one of the stories worth keeping an eye on in the last days of the January window with Juventus and Leeds United in advanced talks for the American midfielder. According to Sky Sport Italia, the Premier League side have slightly raised their offer for the Bianconeri after agreeing to terms with the ex-Schalke man.

Bournemouth had also been linked with the American midfielder and are keen on two other Serie A players. The most notable one is Roma‘s Nicolò Zaniolo. The Giallorossi have accepted an offer worth over €30m, plus add-ons and the Premier League strugglers are now trying to persuade the Italy international.

Zaniolo’s teammate Matias Vina is close to joining Bournemouth on loan with an option to buy for €8m.

The Giallorossi have identified Chelsea’s Ziyech as their priority target to replace Zaniolo but can’t get the player on a short-term deal with an option or obligation to buy, as the Blues have already loaned out eight players this season. If Ziyech leaves, it must be on a permanent transfer.

Inter‘s Roberto Gagliardini has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, but the most likely scenario is to see the Italy international move to England as a free agent at the end of the season, although Inter are willing to listen to offers in January. The player will surely leave the Stadio Meazza at the end of his contract in June as he wants more playing time.

Fulham are in talks with Torino for Sasa Lukic who have signed Ivan Ilic from Verona. The Granata’s reported asking price for their midfielder is €12m and talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage.

Lecce are unlikely to sell their midfielder Morten Hjulmand to Southampton and have already rejected an €11m bid from England.

The same goes for Aston Villa and Gerard Deulofeu as the Udinese striker will undergo knee surgery, forcing him out of action for several weeks.
